Design A Holiday Card

Starting with this assignment you will be expected to incorporate the different elements of design we have been working on. Typography, color, line, shape, balance, and texture will all come together using the principles of layout and design discussed in the videos below.

Design your own card! Choose a Holiday (any one) and use what you've learned so far in design and Photoshop to create a card that matches these specifications:

Size = 4.6" x 7.2" (width and height are up to you)
Color = RGB
Resolution = 300
Safe Zone = 1/4" (This is the area around your card where you don't put any words or important images.)

Remember - before you start do research! Look at lots of different designs to help figure out what you want to do.

When finished save a JPEG version of you card design, name it yourname_card, and upload it to your folder on the Google Drive.

How to get custom brushes

To get custom brushes for your card (or other projects) visit brusheezy.com Choose the brush set you want and download it to the Adobe folder in Documents.

Navigate to the Adobe folder where just downloaded the file. It's a compressed/zipped file that needs to be extracted. Right-click the folder and select Extract All.

Now in Photoshop select the brush tool.
Right-click on your image to open the brush tool menu. Select Import Brushes.
Go to the Adobe folder and select the .abr file you extracted.
At the bottom of the brush menu you should see a new folder with your brushes!
