This page covers the rules, expectations, and grading policies of Mr. Walls' classes. All grades will be posted in Infinite Campus, I only use Google Classroom for announcements. If you have questions please ask or email me at 10088103@k12.hi.us. This site can be accessed on any device, and it is recommended that you bookmark this website.

Classroom Rules

No food or drinks at the computers. You may only eat at the break table. Throw away your garbage when you're finished!

Be mature! You're in high school preparing for college or a career. Take it seriously and treat everyone with respect. Focus on your work and your behavior by not disrupting others.

No cellphones. Sorry, you are addicted to your phones and the new school policy prohibits phone use during school hours.

Clean up! This is a shared work space, and you must keep it clean. That means throwing away ANY trash around your work area, and putting away supplies you take out.

No swearing. There's a time and place for it, and this is neither the time nor the place for it.

Pay Attention. When someone is teaching you something focus on what they're doing. Even if you don't think it's important someone else does. Plus, it's just rude to whoever is talking/teaching.

listening to music

You may listen to music on a computer if you are working on an assignment and there is no class instruction happening. Please wear headphones since not everyone may want to liste to the same music!

Classroom Expectations

Use Infinite Campus. Check your assignments and grades regularly! The expectation is that YOU know if you're missing something. The teacher should not be chasing you down to turn in your work! Link here.

Read Instructions.
Every assignment on this website has instructions, expectations, and examples. We will review the assignments and projects together as a class. If you miss that review you can look at the assignment later. Ask questions if you need clarification.

Turn in your assignments! If you don't turn it in it won't get graded. If you're in an art class there's a place to turn in work and if it's not there don't expect the teacher to look for it. Check Infinite Campus to see what's missing.

Be self-directed. You're in school. When you walk into a class don't open your laptop and watch YouTube - go to this website and see what assignment is next. All your assignments and instructions are here. Bookmark this site. Use it.

Grading

“All things are difficult before they are easy.”

-Thomas Fuller

How does it look when you're graded on effort? This chart gives you an example of how your effort in class is graded. Green would be putting in the most effort, and red is very little or no effort. Green = A level work, Yellow = B or C level work, Orange = C or D level work, Red = F level work.

rules and expectations quiz

Click this link to take a quick quiz about all the stuff above! This is your first grade. If you do poorly you may re-take the quiz for a better grade.

Marooned!

Your group is traveling by boat when it suddenly runs aground on a reef! You swim to shore, and must use whatever you're carrying to help you survive.
