Eyes
If you can imagine lines wrapping around a sphere it will help when you draw the eye.
The human eye is basically a sphere that the eyelids wrap around. If you imagine a grid, or contour lines like our 1st quarter drawing assignment, it's not too hard to draw the rest of the eye around it - especially if you use photo reference.
Use the image below as reference to draw an eye. There are also steps below to help you. After you complete this eye find another from a different angle that you would like to draw. At the end of class turn in one piece of paper with at least 3 eyes drawn on it.
What you're being graded on:
You have at least 3 eyes drawn - the one below and two from another angle.
The parts of the eye are in proportion and have some shading applied.
These steps show you how to start with the large, simple shapes, and then work towards the smaller details. Use this as a guide, but draw from the actual photo above. Using real objects and/or photos as reference will make you a better artist. Copying other people's art may actually make it harder to draw things correctly. Once you can draw it correctly then you can focus on your own style.
