Saving Files in PS
When you're ready to save your file follow the steps below.
Saving in photoshop
When you're ready to save open the File menu. Select Save As so you can rename or choose the location where you save.
1. File name: You can rename your file here before you save it. For this assignment rename your 3 edited photos to firstname_edit1, firstname_edit2, and firstname_edit3.
2. Format: This is where you choose the type of image file you will save your image as. Read below to choose your file type.
JPEG - Good for photos you took on a camera. Flattens all your layers when saving. Use this format for photos you will upload to the yearbook.
Photoshop (PSD) - This is the file format Photoshop uses. Save files as PSD's to keep their layers, and so you can work on them later. This will not work for the yearbook!
PNG - Use this for images with transparent backgrounds like special text or graphics.
3. Before clicking save make sure you're saving to your folder on the computer, and that all your settings are correct. If you're all good then save it!
For YEARBOOK Students - After you've edited and saved your 3 images as JPEGs go to the yearbook folder on Google Drive, create a new folder named lastname_firstname, and then upload your 3 images to it.
