Photoshop Layers
Helpful Hints!
- Drag layers to re-arrange them.
- Backspace will delete your selected layer.
- Use Ctrl+A, and then copy and paste to quickly duplicate certain layers.
You can open the layers menu by pressing the F7 key, or going to the top menu and selecting Windows > Layers.
1. Layer Blend Mode - Layer blend modes will change the way your layers blend together.
2. Opacity - 100% means you can't see through the layer, and 0% makes a layer completely see through.
3. Visibility - The little eye toggles layer visibility. If you forget what is on a layer you can click these on and off to find out.
4. Layer Thumbnails - These small images give a preview of what's on the layer. Double-click the T to edit text. Ctrl+left mouse will select everything on a layer.
5. Layer FX - This menu has lots of cool FX you can apply to your layers. You can make an outline around text with this under the Stroke option.
6. New Layer - Click this to create a new layer. Drag a layer to this button to duplicate it.
7. Trash - Click this to delete the selected layer, or drag layers to this to delete them.
