Video Projects
This is a short video assignment. The goal is to learn how to record, transfer, and edit your videos using Adobe Premiere Rush. Sorry, but you can't use Capcut for this because you will be recording video on the cameras, transferring to the computer, and editing on your computer.
This can be a solo or group project. Groups should be no more than 3. The subject of the video is up to you, but it should be school appropriate.
NOTE: You can record video outside of school using your phones and, with permission, briefly take out your phone to transfer video to your computer.
QUESTION - Do you know what the standard file format that works on all devices is for videos?
Videos will be graded on the following criteria:
Overall Quality - time was spent making sure shots came out well. If something was wrong then a re-shoot was done to get the best shot. You spent time making sure the camera work, editing, sound, and length are the best you could do.
Editing - time was spent thoughtfully editing the video. This includes the use of transitions between different shots. Examples of different techniques can be seen here.
Camera angles - camera angles or camera shots will elevate your video to something more than a quick tik-tok post. Check out this site for lots of good info.
Sound - do your best to get good sound. Avoid shooting outside on windy days, or in a place with a lot of background noise. Voiceovers can be a good way to get clean audio for certain types of scenes. Music is part of this also. If you use music make sure it matches the tone/mood of the video. Don't choose a song just you like it.
Length - videos should be no more than 1 minute. Keep the viewer's attention by using interesting camera angles and editing. Avoid long single takes where you just follow someone around.
Title & Credits - Be sure to include a title and credits. The credits should have everyone who worked on and appeared in your video.
When your videos are complete upload them to this folder on the Google Drive.
Make sure you name the video file the same as your title - do not leave it Untitled!
