Real or Myth?
Choose a person, place, event, or thing from mythology to draw or paint. You will have 4 classes to work on this. Your final art should meet the following requirements:
minimum size = 9"x12"
medium = open
You'll need to use color theory, so yes this should be in color. You can use acrylic or watercolor paint, markers, and colored pencil in combination.
at least one sketch of what you plan on doing
originality
a short, non-AI written explanation of the story of your myth and how you used color theory.
Not sure where to start? Use this checklist to help you get started. You can write this down, put it in a Google doc, or just make a short list to mark off as you complete each task.
Use the link to the world mythology page to choose your culture.
The mythology page has examples for each culture. You can choose one of those examples, or you can look up that culture and choose a different one. For example you could use the Greek story of the Trojan horse and illustrate that, or you could search Greek Mythology and find another myth.
Look up references and read about your myth! If you chose the Trojan horse you would now Google Trojan horse and start looking at images and reading about it.
After you look up your myth and read about it you can start sketching. Try not to just a copy another image - copying reduces your originality points.
