1 Point Perspective
Perspective drawing is a technique used to create depth in a 2D drawing. A perspective drawing has a vanishing point, a horizon line, and orthogonal (parallel) lines.
The steps to create a simple 1 point perspective drawing are:
Draw your horizon line. The higher the line the lower the viewpoint (worm's eye view), the lower the line the higher (bird's eye view) the viewpoint.
Place your vanishing point on the horizon line.
Draw the front of your shapes.
Using a straightedge begin lightly drawing your orthogonal lines. Every one of these should lead back to the vanishing point.
Draw vertical or horizontal lines to define the other sides of your shapes.
Use this practice page to add perspective to the shapes. Shade them using cross hatching like the previous assignment.
