Ink Wash Painting

What you'll need:

a medium round brush

a container with water

a paint tray

You'll also need:

paper
paper towels
ink (see teacher)
scrap paper

For this project you will be painting a landscape. Watch the video for tips and techniques before you start, then choose what you want to paint. You can paint what's in the video, choose an image from below, or find another image online. If you look for your own image find a B&W photo -this will make it easier to see the different values you'll need.

The goal of this assignment is:

to practice and learn how to mix the different shades of gray
to learn the process of working from light to dark
to focus on starting with large basic shapes, and finishing with the details at the end
