New Documents in PS

Follow the steps below to learn the basics of creating new documents in Photoshop.

To create a new document go to File > New, or just press Ctrl+N on your keyboard.

1. Preset: Let's you choose a standard presets for size and resolution.

2. This menu let's you choose the type of measurement you want to use. Make sure this is set correctly before creating your new document!

3. Resolution: This let's you set how many pixels per inch you want.

4. Color Mode: Normally we will always use RGB. Sometimes this gets set to something different so just check to make sure it's correct.

5. When your settings are finished click OK.
