Rebuilding Your Computer
You will be rebuilding your computer and turning it on. This counts as a quiz, and here's how it works.
The quiz is worth 50 points
Your goal is to rebuild your computer on your own using only your notes.
You can ask for help if you're stuck, but every time you do you lose 5 points off the total.
To successfully complete the quiz your computer must start and load Windows.
If there is a problem loading Windows that isn't your fault that will not count against you.
IMPORTANT! You will also learn how to apply thermal paste to your CPU. When you are ready to attach the fan to CPU ask the teacher for help - this will not count against you.
Applying Thermal Paste
Before you attach the cooling fan to your CPU it will need a fresh application of thermal paste.
Use the tube of paste you get, and put the same amount in the same place you see in the picture.
Gently place your fan/heatsink over the CPU - be careful not to move it!
Re-attach the fan by screwing each screw in equally. What that means is turn one screw just a small amount, then the next, and the next until you've secured the CPU. This makes sure the paste spreads evenly under the heatsink.
