Make a Video Game
Making a video game today is easier than ever. There are multiple programs and online tutorials that you can use for free. The following assignment will introduce you to an online program that can be used to make 2D video games.
For this project you will be using the program Flowlab. Choose the Free option and use a personal email for your account. Make sure you select Individual and not Student!
There other game making programs out there too. Unity and the Unreal Engine are both available for free, and can make 2D as well as 3D games. In fact, many of the games made today on PC, Playstation, and Xbox use either Unity or Unreal Engine 4!
Instructions
Your assignment is to complete the 10 tutorial videos on this page. Each video is worth 10 points. If you successfully complete all 10 videos you will get 100 points. If you don't finish the videos or can't get something to work then you would lose points. For example, if you only made it to the 7th video you could only get up to 70 points. Or if you were unable to get the your character animation to work you would get 5 out of 10 points for that video.
Having headphones is recommended for the videos. You can also watch the video on one computer and work on your game on another.
You need to register with Flowlab to use the software. Use a personal email to avoid getting spammed by upgrade options.
To receive your grade have the teacher play your game. You will receive points for each video.
